Steven M. Arpin was born October 23, 1958, at Salina. He was a graduate of Salina Central High school and a 1980 graduate of Kansas State University with a degree in agricultural education. He was a member of Alpha Tau Alpha, an agricultural honor society, and the KSU Student Legislature. He was a foreman at Twin Valley Garden Center, Salina.

He died October 8, 1980, at St. John's Hospital as a result of injuries suffered in a motorcycle-truck collision.

Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Arpin; seven brothers, Harold, Jerry, Leland, Ronald, Richard, Kenneth and Gary; two sisters, Mrs. Charlene Warbritton and Mrs. Karen Schmidt; and his fiance, Sue Wilson.
